Our father's letters....a glimpse into the past

Several years ago I ran across some letters that my father had written to his mom and step-dad.

These letters had been carefully boxed and kept by my grandmother. I discovered them while visiting her in the mid- 90's. She herself was in her 90's at the time.

I began to type these carefully and beautifully handwritten letters so that I could share the contents of these letters with the rest of my family.

Several stumbling blocks (lost files on a computer '5 inch floppy' kept me from completing my task in a timely manner.

After getting two years (1945 and 1946) in print, the motivation (and our mother) increased and this blog is the end result.

Of course, as I copy these letters into the blog (thanks to Jesse for typing them up for me) you will see that you need to use the BLOG ARCHIVE on the right below this message to read them in order.

About Me

My photo
JereAnn
I always traveled vicariously through my family - brothers, sister, husband, children. Then in the year 2009 my footsteps took me to Mauritania, back to Papua New Guinea, Australia, Spain and the Canary Islands. A dream come true for me also happened in December, 2009 - I became a proud owner of a Jack Russell Terrier named Roxy. The year 2010 adds another milestone: My daughter, Kalie, was married to wonderful Aaron. And then August 4, 2010 I became an aunt - a real aunt. For the first time. Thanks Sonsoles and Paul. :) Me HAPPY! And then, August 4, 2010, Marcos Ramon was born to Paul and Sonsoles. The cutest baby since my own kids! :) I see new things on the horizon. And despite life's challenges, I am blessed.
